Privacy policy
This policy describes the 4D Moment app and this website. This is a draft for information, not legal advice. It is written for the state of the project as of 2026-11-02: no version of the app has been built or released yet, so it describes what the first test version is intended to do, and what later capture versions are designed to do.
Planned first test version (specified, not yet built)
The first test version of the app is specified to:
- show a title screen only;
- request no permissions (no camera, microphone or other access);
- collect no personal data;
- make no network connections of its own;
- require no account or registration;
- include no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
Camera images and 3D results are not part of this version: it does not capture anything.
Intended design (not yet implemented)
Capture of camera images and the computation of 3D results are a later, planned stage. They are intended to work as follows: all processing happens on the phone, and camera images and results stay on the phone unless you choose to share them yourself. The app is designed to send your images to no server and to include no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. These statements describe the intended design; they are not yet implemented and not yet verified in a released app.
People being filmed, children and consent
Later capture versions are intended to record people around you. Filming a person requires their consent. In planned group sessions, sharing follows the rule fixed when the session is created, and everyone joining sees that rule before taking part; for children, a result leaves a shared session only with parental approval. Please ask everyone who appears in your recordings before filming or sharing.
Apple and Google diagnostics
Separate from anything the app does: Apple (on iPhone) and Google (on Android) may collect their own diagnostic data, such as crash reports, if you agreed to this in the system settings of your device. This is collected by Apple or Google under their own policies, not by 4D Moment.
Controller
4D Moment is developed by Marco Laffranchi, Switzerland.
